About the Position
The Building Inspector performs inspections of residential and commercial buildings and related systems to ensure compliance with applicable buildings and to ensure applicable buildings and related systems to ensure compliance with applicable building and fire codes and to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the public.

The Building Inspector performs highly skilled, technical inspection work in securing compliance with the Municipal Building Codes and related ordinances. The Building Inspector is an active team associate involved in examining methods or processes, making recommendations for changes, and assisting in the success of those changes for completion of inspection activities. The Building Inspector inspects buildings and appurtenances in the process of construction for compliance with building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and zoning codes.
